Homemade Halloween Treats

Save the tricks — this Halloween we’re all about the homemade Halloween treats! This time of year is often all about candy, but we’re here to remind you that there are so many other fun and delicious things out there! Whether you’re hosting a themed party, making treats for the kiddos, or just enjoying all things fall, here are some of our favorite homemade Halloween treats.

Spooky Fruit Platter

To create the ultimate Halloween fruit platter, gather clementines, grapes, bananas, apples, celery, chocolate frosting, peanut/almond butter and mini marshmallows. Construct as seen above. For vanilla yogurt fruit dip, combine 2 cups vanilla yogurt, 1/2 cup honey and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.

Bone Breadsticks

Roll your favorite breadstick recipe into balls, then into a long rope. Cut a 1-inch slit at the end of each breadstick, and gently pull apart on both sides. Brush with butter, sprinkle with salt and bake as directed by the recipe. Make sure to serve with a “bloody” marina sauce for the full effect!

Monster Avocado Toast

Everyone’s favorite breakfast with a spooky makeover! Mash avocado on top of a toasted piece of bread, squeeze with lime juice and sprinkle with flaky salt. Add two egg white slices and then top with two olive slices for eyes. Use a small sliver of red pepper for a mouth, and more olives for hair and scars.

Mummy Dogs

Roll out homemade or store-bough pastry dough and cut into long strips. Grab your favorite sausage or hot dog and roll in this pastry ropes until the mummy look is created. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 F until dough is golden brown. Dot eyes with mustard and attach googly eyes.
