Fudgy Homemade Brownies Recipe
Makes: 16-20 brownies
Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
10 tablespoons butter
1 cup granulated sugar
¼ cup light brown sugar
¾ cup plus 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 large eggs
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 325°F and line the bottom of an 8×8 inch pan with foil or parchment leaving overhang on all sides. Set aside. Combine the butter, sugar, cocoa and salt in a medium microwave safe bowl and microwave for one-minute intervals, stirring in between each one, until the butter is melted. Set aside until it cools slightly. Stir in the vanilla with a rubber spatula.
Add the eggs, one at a time, stirring vigorously after each one. When the batter looks thick, shiny and well blended, add the flour and stir until it’s completely incorporated. Mix for a full minute then stir in chocolate chips. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan and a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out mostly clean.
Start checking the brownies at 20 minutes as all ovens are different. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely on a rack.
Once cooled, remove from pan by lifting up on the parchment or foil.
Cut into squares, grab a glass of milk and enjoy!
